Hi, I just bought a Canadian version of Sony NSZ-GS7 and I'm trying to flash US firmware via USB update.
In the update process, I got the following error messages :
package is too old.
E:Error in /cache/sideload/package.zip
(Status7)
Installation aborted.
Can anyone help please.
Thanks
Package is too old

Re: Package is too old
Thanks for your quick reply.
I currently have REL10_NSZGS7_CA2_2203_133772_20130529_URSC_S67254 installed, the latest US firmware I can find is
REL08_NSZGS7_U2_2106_131390_20130406_URSC
Do you know where can I find more up to date US firmware ?
Thanks

Re: Package is too old
there is no newer version that you have, what you can do is hope that a new one comes out, perhaps the REL11, who knows, and do not update your device with the update canada instead use the US one when is avaliable. Im waiting too

Re: Package is too old
problem is that the REL11 might be automatically installed before he can prevent it from happening.
i have the US REL10 here, and i never saw my box asking for approval on updating from REL07
so it might just be a problem to catch the box in the act of upgrading?

yes, that will be a problem, I can think of is to have it offline, until a update, or otherwise disable automatic updates, now that we have root

maybe worth sharing that you managed to replace build.prop on you box and can now install a US REL10 update using a REL07 build.propbovoro wrote:yes, that will be a problem, I can think of is to have it offline, until a update, or otherwise disable automatic updates, now that we have root

Re: Package is too old
Yes , thats right.
since we have root access, its posible now, changing the build.prop from a older one ,for example:
change to a REL05 build.prop, then put in a usb stick rel07 update ZIP and in recovery you can update to any release newer than REL05.
I can think in another application for the build.prop, changing the current release information by a newer, to protect us of a new updates, while we assess whether or not lose root access or they fix the hole used by saurik with impactor
