Holding the Pair/Reset button after powering on for a second does cause the revue to reboot, but it just stays stuck at the logo screen, and does not progress to the Google Tv logo and "horizontal babershop" logo.
You need to let the revue reboot twice on the third boot up the recovery logo comes up and them ALT+L will start the recovery menu.

But other then getting in I still can get pass the setup. Sign into gmail goes fine.

You need to install some side keyboard. I needed Russian so tried about 5 of them and finally worked with Russian Keyboard. Smart Keyboard do now work, try others.

I let it reboot more than 2 times by holding reset button on and off. I am never able to get recovery console.

I have rebooted my Revue many times, roughly 10, and the only issue I have run into is it messes up the sync between my Revue and my Dish Network DVR. It boots up good every time. I have noticed that when I install apps that it messes with the stability of the system. As in when I installed a remote Desktop app the Revue would continually lose connection with the internet and my Dish Network DVR. So I can only assume that certain apps, even thought they successfully install and launch, can cause the system to be unstable. But this is only an assumption.
As far as correcting the sync between my Dish and Revue, I have to reboot the DVR box and go through the broadband setup again. Then all is good.
I really haven't had too many issues with the update, the only major one is the sound issue that has already been acknowledged.

NOTE: I reboot my Revue after I install custom apps, just to see if it does anything to the system after installing the custom app.

@zoccer22
When you say "rebooted" are you pulling power? Or is there a way to reboot like on a phone.

The system has rebooted twice on its own after installing apps (Netflix was one (didn't work) and the other was a custom flash apk that let hulu work on tablets). And you can force a reboot by changing certain system settings (I'll post which ones specifically once I have tested them). But in my case yes I unplug the power cable and let it sit for about 2 minutes and plug it back in. Which after reading some more info posted on this forum, I will not do anymore. If I understand right, it might be a risk by unplugging and plugging in the device repeatedly.
So once I figure out which settings force a reboot I will post them. I want to test them to make sure it wasn't a fluke that it restarted. I know it restarted after removing and adding in a new DVR (STB) device (part of the initial setup). But I cannot say for certain it would do it every time.
