I am using GTVBox Player on a logitech revue. I've noticed that fairly often after playing a few video's the player will start telling me it can't play any media...this is media that worked fine earlier and it's media that works fine after I reboot the revue...I've seen it happen on both mp4's and mkv's. Additionally ES Media Player from ES File Explorer will play the media fine so I know the box itself is not having a codec issue. Error displayed can be seen at http://i.imgur.com/b4WoS.jpg (I tried inserting it as an image to the post but it kept complaining "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image."

If you tell me how to provide you additional information or if you want me to run a special version that can submit diagnostic information I'm willing to help however I can. I can also provide an adb logcat when getting the error but wasn't sure if it would benefit.

I should point out that even when mkv's and mp4's are giving the error avi's will continue to play fine.

Minor release of GTVBox Video Player v.0.65 is out.

Shuffle file sorting - just randomises files in a directory.
Subtitle outline - it is a rather hard task in Android to draw an outline over a TextView. This one is not good, sorry. But it still allows you to read white subtitle over white background.
Subtitle color setting - you can now change DEFAULT subtitle color. Remember: if your MKV SSA script tells the player to draw a white subtitle, it will ignore color setting.
Zoom/crop 4:3 media to 16:9 (Sony only!) - don't like those black bars at left and right when watching old SD content? Just zoom/crop it with Z button. Revue can not do this, I don't know why. So, only for Sony.
Basic intent API for 3rd-party apps - other apps can send intents with extra options. Docs are here: http://player.gtvbox.net/support/api
Bugfixes and small improvements (upnp, smb, progress bar, playlists, resume).

I will provide a logcat as soon as I can reproduce the issue. Now that I am looking for it, it has predicatably refused to happen. Thank you!

@mcd2000

For whatever reason my post showed up as a new topic instead of in this thread. I thought you should know....

I haven't been keeping up with this thread, so please excuse me if I'm repeating what someone else has said or if this has been answered already.

Would it be difficult or even possible to have seamless playback from track to track when playing a playlist? I use GTVBox for listening to my music library as well, and every time a track ends there's about a five second delay before the next track starts. This is especially annoying when listening to an album that is recorded with tracks that flow together.

EDIT: It may also be helpful to know I also own the Sony Blu-Ray player, the NSZ-GT1. That's the one I use primarily for streaming music.

It is technically possible for music... but not for the video. So, it is complicated to integrate this feature.
I've noticed that many people use GTVBox for music now, while it is completely non-optimized for that: no background playback, no crossfade, no mp3 id3. It is very complicated to add these features to a video player and not to break smth. So, I was thinking about developing a separate app for music, which will include all streaming features of GTVBox (like smb/dlna/nfs) and at the same time will have all those music features like playlists, crossfade, album covers.
I am still not sure, how many people will use it, as there are Google Music app, Plex app, avia and many more music apps for tablets that work on GTV. I just need to know why people use GTVBox for music...
From the other side... I use GTVBox for music myself... I hate it, but Google Music is so stupid...

I use GTV for music because it is able to access my vast music library. It's bigger than Google Music's limit (although I don't have a problem with the app necessarily). The Logitech Player is slow to load all the files and is slow to buffer.

I'm having problems playing some MKV files. It will play for about 15-20 seconds and then it will quit and show the root directory the file is located at. It's weird because it only does it with some, not all MKV files. Anybody else having this issue?

Does this happen when you play those files locally (from usb stick)?
