For example when playing a 2GB 720P MKV file, I waited maybe 1 min and got nothing, so I back out, tried a small file, played fine, and came back, still get nothing after like 30 seconds wait. Then after a while on a 3rd try, I get video on screen within like 2 seconds, as fast as those small files.

Are you caching files based on their size? Like a 10% of the file get cached before play start?
I guess it is better to cap the cache size to something reasonable like 10MB at most, if 10MB buffer cannot help it, then 100MB cache or 1GB cache wont make too much difference either, better just copy the whole thing over.

Or better yet, make the buffer/cache size adjustable in options? That'd be great as everyone has different network environment.
There must be smth wrong with your network... Caching exists, but it is from 512kb to 2Mb. You can adjust it in preferences in v.0.27.

Just realized mine is not the latest, just tried 0.27 it is much better, I simply disabled caching and every file just immediately pop up.
One more thing though, once I fast forward, the large file will not play anymore, while small file seems to fast forward fine.
Anyone else have same issue as me?

I am still comparing a 2GB 720p MKV with a 300MB 480p MKV.

Actually I take it back, small MKV fast forward is also inconsistent, sometime it continue play, sometime it get stuck, and once it is stuck, I cannot figure out how to let it resume.

Look some pages above. Logitech sucked. They simply broke MKV seeking in most files.

I'm still having trouble with subtitles. I've chosen UTF-8 in my application settings and I've ensured the file.srt file is encoded in UTF-8 and it is named properly. I am able to select the subtitle using the 'S' key, but the subtitles do not display. I've tried multiple files to no avail. I have a Review with the HC update and the latest paid version of GTVBox from the Market. Any advice?

If you can send me your subtitle file to [email protected], I could look at what is happening.

agreed this looks spot on! if you can confirm the files names its looking for when your ready to release that would be good. if i need to rename my jpgs i'll get a job running as it might take a while to index my folders!

I would like to support different naming templates.
The basic will be: filename.mkv -> filename.jpg for file cover, -> filename_sheet.jpg for file sheet and cover.jpg and sheet.jpg for a folder.
Also, there will be templates for ThumbGen, Movienizer and Tvixie.
If you can suggest some other template, we could think to add it too.

I can not say the release date for now. I am on a New Year vacation now until Janguary, 7th far from my GTV. ;)
