Re: Video player with audio switching (GTVBox Video Player)
I think the high bitrate might be due to my network. It's wired, not wireless, My next step is to replace the computer and use one that can jsut be a server

I'm pretty sure it's not network related. Even on my wireless network, I can stream very high bitrate 1080p mkvs using DLNA with no issues, but the same videos freeze every 5 seconds using GTVBox Player over SMB. Bandwidth usage on the PC is identical during both, and nowhere near maxing out the connection. The bandwidth is stable using both as well, so it doesn't seem to be some sort of SMB issue that is causing the constant drops either.George wrote:I think the high bitrate might be due to my network. Definitely seems like some sort of buffering/caching issue. I messed with the new caching option a bit, but didn't seem to make much of a difference. Here's to hoping the issue can be found and is something that can be fixed (and isn't a problem with GTV itself), because this player is so much better than the logitech player.

same here. i've even used upnp with gtvbox with no issues. i think there is an smb issue on this build of honeycomb. gonna try smb on my transformer and see how it works. will report back.JBark wrote:I'm pretty sure it's not network related. Supporting movie sheets would be great. I've already made them for my WD TV Live Plus and would love to be able to use the same imagesmcd2000 wrote:JPG are just filtered out - you see only video files.deviousrich wrote:good news on the coming release.
any chance of getting jpgs shown i,e, if you hover over a jpg can you say show it in a lower half or as a background?
i have cover art and description art in all my folders and this would be a real bonus.
are you accepting help by the way, im a software engineer by trade and would be more than happy to help out if you need any assistance?
(all FOC without question, this is your app!)
But I think i know the better solution for now... It will be easy to implement:
When you hover a video file, the player will look for a file with the same name and JPG extension (more like with subtitles) and when found will display somewhere at the bottom of screen (the same could be with a txt file). Is everyone ok with this?
Thanks for suggesting help, but I think I need a designer now more then a developer.
here is a sample sheet
http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/9451/t ... heetsh.jpg
and the list of movies/shows would be in the black area
If you make them compatible users could make the sheets using http://thumbgen.org/ and templates from here http://www.wdtvlive.net/forumdisplay.php?10-Moviesheets

I am going to download more high-bitrate videos and test.

Re: Video player with audio switching (GTVBox Video Player)
hi,
yes they are just jpg files. everyone has a different template for what they show. i think the difficulty would be that they are usually a full screen so showing it as well as the file list would be difficult. maybe a hover over or menu button -> "show moviesheet" which would bring it up full screen until any key is pressed?
there are soo many formats (sizes of the jpg) its a difficult one. i would do either as you prototypes for any portrait imgaes and a full screen 'preview' for any landscape images but thats just my 2 cents (and assumes you can get teh properties of the jpg easily...)

I was just thinking about the same.deviousrich wrote:hi,

Like, you have a file navigator and pictures are at the right. If you hover a file and press RIGHT (on D-Pad) or click the image, it goes fullscreen (with animation). Then you can start playback (like pressing enter/play), go back or go to the next image (like pressing up/down).
I've just found a 'competitor' software - twixie. Looks like it does almost the same, so you can use both.
