google play broken on my nsx-40gt1?!

I'm having trouble with the play store. At first, existing apps could be updated but new apps could not be installed. The store would act like it was starting to install but would never finish. If I hit 'back' and then selected the app again, the button said INSTALL again.
I ran out of ideas, so I force closed the play store and cleared its cache. Now, when I open it and go to My Apps, it says that I don't have any apps installed. If I go to the play website, it says the same thing. If I select an app, the button that should say INSTALL is grey and says NOT COMPATIBLE instead.
When I view the BTEP app in my pc browser, I get the message
Any suggestions?

My TV has been rooted since a week or two after the exploit was announced, and I haven't had trouble until now.
