I have a mac, but I use Twonky Media Server on my laptop and the Logitech Media app on my gtv. Works great.

Funny that you asked this, cause I've been trying out several different ones today. I've tried the one built into media player 12. It does the job but is real basic and doesn't seem to refresh very quickly if you drop in new content. I tried TVersity and it was pretty easy to setup and also seemed to work fine. Currently I'm testing one called Serviio. There are some nice features in it. It will go out and get covers and meta data for you. However none of that seems to display in the Logitech Media Player. It does display nicely on my other DLNA devices. It does let you do a folder view and has movies sorted by actors, genera, last added, etc. And that is kind of nice.
I would like to hear too if someone else out there can find something better or maybe a better player to give more of a movie cover listing. I would assume that is the same kind of thing that you're going for.

I am also using TVmobili. So far its ok, ran into a few bugs like i had a show paused i was streaming and then it errored out and then no movies or anything would play, resets wouldn't do anything...finally it started working again....it could have been the wireless connection, but not sure...other than that it works great.

I'm happily using MediaTomb with a Linux server right now. With uShare (what I was using previously with my PS3), the stream would crash after about 5-10 seconds and require a server restart.

No offense but the Media Player app for the Revue is garbage and DLNA playback is really inconsistent. If any of you have used a front end that's specifically made for watching TV and movies you'd know what I'm saying. Since we can get apps now i'd really like to see something with box covers, descriptions, fanart etc. with support for seasons and specials and the like. Any chance of running an app like Plex/XBMC/Boxee over SMB (or Plex Media Server for Plex)?

No I completely agree with you the Logitech Player is crap, but I think most of us are just trying to make the most out of it. I've looked all over the market for other DLNA Players and can't find one. Even if they would show the files in the TV and Movies app with a cover and then take you to info, that would be great.
