Revue outside US

Post by sug83 »

I am wondering if there will be no problems to get Revue on-line in Poland (europe) ?
It is Us-only product to buy, but i would like to ship one to Poland.

I did hear about opening up outside the US next year but as of where, i am not sure. And really they might not even bother if it has anything to do with logitech as they are dropping the revue.

I have come across a link like this: http://logitech.lithium.com/t5/Revue/Wi ... light/true

It answers all my questions regarding Revue.

Logitech is droping Revue, but Google is not droping Google TV, so i bought one today on amazon 79,99$, waiting for shipment.
Logitech is making mistake in my opinion.

As for development, when Google TV will be adopted on more accessories like custom build boxes, tv, dvr, blurays and such, it will boom as the Android system on cell phones. Those samsung/panasonic/toshiba alike operating systems will die naturally like symbian or be on the edge of popularity like bada.

I was Using a htpc build on Windows 7 media center (music, films, pictures, live tv and few more...), but it lacks of support and standard native as for me apps, like Skype, Youtube accessible from the Media Center Menu, I am not a fan of mouse browsing in my livingroom - as one said, Media Center must act as a normal tv and be controled by remote-like thingy.

As for Revue, when it comes to web browsing and such, i will use keybord, not a remote.

With the help of proxy maping, ppl all over world can use netflix and other useful apps.
Cant wait for Google Music, G+ on TV..or maybe it is already?

Last thing i need to solve.

Power Supply - I see that it is:
MFR: Asian Power Devices Inc. M/N: DA-36L12
Input: AC 100-240V ~ 1.0A, 50-60Hz
Output: DC 12V - 3A

AC 100-240V : that means it works in 100V outlet and 240V outlet?
~ 1.0A : that means it will need 1A of our outlet to power the device?
50-60Hz : it is a frequency of the power that runs in outlet? (50Hz for Europe, 60Hz for USA?)

So it is worldwide supply unit that we Can plug in any outlet?
And only thing that we need to worry is the right adapter for the US socket/cord and just plug it in th outlet?

And i have sorted this out with my friends.
This is a worldwide power supply module, and only thing i should need is an adapter.

I can confirm it's working in EU, at least it's working fine in Hungary.

I'm in New Zealand, the power supply here is 240V 50Hz, all you need is to swap the cable (I grabbed an old vcr one) and plug it into the revue and it will be good to go.

The revue is not as functional as in the USA, but still very useful (no integration with EPGs, usual proxy issues with location based content)

I have a Revue in South America (Chile), everything work except the dvr configuration, it only accept a US zipcode in order to configure it, so i cant use the tv guide or remote control feature. Does anyone knows if i can configure it without a US zipcode?
