I playing mkv video and for some reason it say Subtitles: disabled

can someone help me, do I have to change Subtitles charset

I got to work, I had to make another srt file but what is mkv Subtitles charset

press S for activating subs and for the charset you have to go to options then choose charset.
there will be a huge list of charset, choose the one that fits your language, in my case was ISO-XXXXXX-9, (portuguese, lot's of accents)
check the web for best charset for your language.

Go to options,
then Applications preferences, and the you can choose your charset.
