Can someone answer this one for me. I dont have a cable box. So i went out and bought a tivo primiere so i could watch GTV with my basic cable 1-99. From what i read, without subscription i would not get guide data and therefor would not be able to record a show and place it on the dvr. And i was ok with that. So i hooked it all up. Set up tivo through internet connection and downloaded all the software and did the set up.. Did not subscribe. And i have channel guide info and i can record to dvr and watch recordings.

So here is my questions?

Is there a free trail when you initially set it up?
Should i keep it connected to the internet to receive guide info?
Or is the guide info coming from my provider via coax?

The guide info is based on your zip code, and probably you choose your cable provider on the initial setup.
