Is this possible? (NAS)

I'd like to use my Revue as a NAS. What I was thinking was rooting then installing a SMB friendly file manager and connecting a 500 GB USB hard drive to the Revue.

Is this possible?

Not SMB, the revue only supports DLNA for now (or, until someone makes an app!)

I believe the OP, was asking if he can use the Revue AS A NAS, not with a NAS.

I can't answer the question, but I can't imagine using the Revue as a NAS will perform well. You're going to be limited to the speed of the USB2 interface and the 100MB connection.

I was mainly looking for a way to copy files across the network to a Hard Drive connected to the Revue. I wasn't going to go the other way, from the Revue to a computer.

At this moment I dont think the device canserve as a NAS. This purely needs an app to be developed or used.

I'd be interested to see if this app would work on a rooted/HC-updated Revue:

Gunny...

I use this on my LAN and it has been a nice add-on since I didnt want a hotass server heating up my house in the summer, plus it has 4 USB ports so new n old hdds alike will play together...

Sometimes frys.com links crash from one puter to another, so just go there and search for Cirago NUS1000.

Reasonably priced too!
