no audio coming from revue

this is my setup.

dish network 722k
to
revue
to
insignia hd tv

through hdmi

i get no sound through the revue. i have changed out hdmi cables and still nothing. i get picture fine but no sound. even through youtube or any other apps. can anyone help me please. just setting it up and cant get any audio to work. thank you so much ahead of time. this is out of the box. i have not rooted it at all.

are you sure your sound and everything is turned up?

Yes. When I unhook everything and put it back the way it was it I can hear it perfectly. The revue is set up in the bedroom but it will be hooked up for the living room. If that makes sense.

Can you hear other sounds through the Revue, the Dish for example or can you not hear things originating from the Revue?

i am able to hear nothing from the revue. its like its on mute thoughout the whole apps and dish

Does it just drop out after some time? If so disconnect the HDMI cable from the TV and reconnect it and see if it starts working, or try another HDMI port on the TV. Maybe a bad port or revue.

I don't know where I read it, I believe somewhere on this forum, but I had the same issue. I fixed it by completely powering off (unplugging) the revue and the tv at the same time. Then waiting about 10 mins and power them both on at the same time. This was easy in my case since they were both on the same surge protector.

it was actually the distance of the hdmi cable. i guess teh signal cant travel 50 ft.
