By using astro to backup my touchpad and g2 and wifi file explorer I have been able to install a ton of apps. (I will test just plugging in a jump drive and using OI later) Here are a few that work great.
Tapatalk
Black Facebook
Pulse Reader
Ebuddy
Flash (haven't tested but installed)
Photoshop Express
Utorrent remote (if there were only a demonoid app)

MORE TO COME. Its early and I've only had the Sony br for about 2 hrs, lol.

Can you explain a little further on what app you installed on the GTV? I have a nook and I would like to recreate what you are doing but I just got my GTV today and I haven't done much beyond setting it up.

Am I correct to assume there is no root out and won't be for this since it has been a year since it came out?

Start with the Amazon App Store, from there it should make stuff easier. You can get astro file manager through that.

APPs:
aVia Media Player
FileExpert

But I want to mount CIFIS/SMB share on it.. I found CIFIS Manager but device must be rooted to install.

Anyone had rooted the device ? I'm using HoneyComb 3.1

Thanks

If you look at my guide under Sony nsx Google tv I believe you can use the same processes as a Google tv because the boxes should accept usb jump drives and you should be able to select install unknown sources
Correct me if I'm wrong but if not I have a step by step guide on how to install any app but a lot do not work and we are also compiling a list
