Hi All,

I recently purchased a Sony NSZ-GS7 in Europe. I was surprised to find out that it came with 648MB of RAM and 4GB of internal flash memory. From blog posts I read prior to buying it, I understood the NSZ-GS7 should have 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal flash memory.

Can someone please confirm the amount of RAM and internal flash memory on the US version of the NSZ-GS7?

Are you going by the numbers listed in the settings section? If so, that's cut down a bit. The hardware does feature the ram / flash memory as stated (1GB/8GB). However some of the ram is reserved (graphics, among other things), and at least half of the flash memory is for the running system, kernel, etc.

Yes, I have the same perception that the device should have 8Gb of internal memory but when I opened the box and checked it out on the screen, it showed only 4.09Gb, I don't know where the other 4Gb went. I am a little bit disappointed.
