I have a brand new box from best buy. should i root it or wait for the official release of 3.1. My goal is to say good buy to cable TV. So i will need access to Hulu, the network web sites, Netflix, Amazon etc. If rooting is the way to go i need help with the software part. i don't understand what software to put on the thumb drive and how to get it on the Revue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you prepared and able to solder headers onto the Revue's motherboard? If not, you won't be rooting it. The Revue is a hardware+software root.
If you must have Hulu, root is the only way to go right now.

I suggest reading the full root guide, it's pretty simple. After soldering, connect to a serial port, open up a connection to it (putty, minicom, hyperterminal, etc). Copy the files to a USB stick, put into the revue. Run two commands, and it will do the rest!
