I think, ES uses the same jcifs samba library as my player. :-)
I have a Windows 7 PC and Macbook. When both PC and Mac are on, I can see a workgroup (in discovery) and both hosts inside. But if PC is off, I can not see Worgkroup with Mac (but can connect to it directly by host/ip).
There is a lot of magic in SMB protocol.

Then it may due to some problem with the honeycomb version of the jcifs library since ES works fine on my phone (gingerbread). I'll try to have a PC on when I get home today.

It seems that the samba server can only be found if I set the security level to "share" rather than "user".

Thank You for creating an app that solved all my needs from Revue.. Now I can watch every tv series or movie I have on pc with Subtitle..! and all without dlna or transconding, but just sharing them in a simple net!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

App 5*! Already bought in market as a donator.. thank you, this is what I like of Android, what is not taken in consideration by google programmers, is solved my great users!

a question: is possible, maybe in future, to choose where to show the progress bar? Or make it transparent? if I pause or rewind the movie, the progress bar is showing right on subtitles and I can't read them!

Thankyou again!!

In the next version the bar will not display when paused/started using spacebar.

Captions/srt files

The player is solid; but I can't get subtitles/srt files to work. The video files and the srt files have the same filename, and they work fine on my laptop (on VLC).

I'm also seeing some files that work fine on my laptop, but aren't playing on GTVBox.

I'm using the app on a Sony Google TV, playing off of a thumb drive.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

If you can share these files (the first 10-50Mbytes of each should be enough) and subtitles, I can check.
If you can't share files, please share only subtitles (maybe they have some defect causing my parser to fail).
Thanks!

Minor update released. Mostly bugfixes. Also spacebar thing from the post above.

Just some feedback,
While the video is playing...the green android with popcorn will come out after a long while of not touching the keyboard.
