I've got a feature suggestion:
Can you make the GoogleTV global search look into the GTVBox video library?
In the search settings there is a section for applications that are searchables (Like the built in TV and Movies and Redux and other examples).
If you add this option we would be able to search using the global search and get results from the local video library and immediately play them using GTVBox.
You could add an option in the app preferences to select searchable folders and SMB shares.
I don't know how difficult this would be to implement, but I hope it's possible.
BTW, great job on this app, I've been using it since the beginning (bought on the market) and it's made my GTV usable, as the logitech media player could not play any of my files over DLNA.
Thanks

Re: Video player with audio switching (GTVBox Video Player)
1) it was on dropbox last week... I have no control of that.commonplace wrote:Two questions:
1) I can't find the apk in the GTVHacker Dropbox. Am I just missing it, or is it gone? ( I saw someone said they downloaded it just a few days ago...)
2) Does the app identify (or have an option to do so) movies/shows you've already watched? Like can I mark a television episode as "viewed" or "watched", so I know where to start watching next time? I'm not wanting to resume playback, just wanting to know (visually) that I've watched, say, episodes 1, 2, 3, and 4, but that I haven't yet watched episode 5.
Thanks!!
/Kevin

2) that is not yet implemented, but someone alteady requested this. So it is in the roadmap.

Maybe, to say truth I've only tested avis with divx5/xvid codecs.slyder0244 wrote:I've got some divx 3 and 4 videos which gtvbox and the built in media player won't play. Does gtv just not support older divx? My computer of course plays them as does the xbox 360.

I was thinking about that. This requires indexing of all shared directories. It takes time and spend cpu/memory/flash resources...tidhar.mor wrote:I've got a feature suggestion:

I've subscribed to Opensubtitles.org API long time ago. Just hadn't time to implement.nelson1979 wrote:MDC you r doing a great job! Thanks! some feature that can be VERY HANDY is to search for subs, like BsPlayer. I guess there r some site's api you can use! That will be amazing! Thanks!

I'm working on DLNA now. This EVIL technology will take some time to get it work properly...

Yeah I figured it must be the codecs from gtv, and not your players fault. I was just curious. Thanks for the great app.mcd2000 wrote:Maybe, to say truth I've only tested avis with divx5/xvid codecs.slyder0244 wrote:I've got some divx 3 and 4 videos which gtvbox and the built in media player won't play. Re: Video player with audio switching (GTVBox Video Player)
I've been a fan for GVTBOX player since the start.. I have one suggestion, reguarding the audio track. Would it be something you could do to have a default play for the first ENGLISH track or actually Whatever language is your default language. Format Factory Identifies the tracks in a lot of my MKV files and a lot have the english track as a second or third track..
Also I have some large MKV files that seem to have issue with the DTS AUDIO, they play okay but the audio has a slight glitch that is really appeant in loud scenes. I assume source file, because some play fine. I also have a few where the video freezes to the point where you have to press the FF button to get past that point.
Not a big problem as it plays 95% of everything I have thrown at it. It will even play 3d files, although you have to click the TV into 3d mode by hand as it don't auto detect them as 3d.

Re: Video player with audio switching (GTVBox Video Player)
Hi mcd2000,
Bought your app 1 month ago and I am glad to see the improvements here, it sounds very promising.
I have a question regarding the subtitles support because I am still unable to play any, either within MKV or .srt (even after the last update).
- In the previous version those were simply not detected in my MKV, so I tought that it was maybe due to styles, font colors or invalid format (of course I enabled the Extended MKV support in preferences). AVI with .srt detected the sub (pressing S showed it) but no text was displayed on screen.
- In the actual version the subtitles are detected within my MKV (and also for AVI with .srt), I can switch between these with S, but still no text is displayed on screen.
I thought that it may come from the charset, so I tried UTF8 and UTF16, without success.
Any suggestion ?
Note: I am using the Revue with official Honeycomb update.
Thank you and keep up the good work.
Laurent
