That's the idea, but I'd say at the moment do not upgrade unless you WANT to be the guinea pig.
Thanks,
Zenofex
Knowing this would have been helpful. Not the guinea pig part I mean. I must be the only person that got bircked and I am not all that upset about it. Zenofex if you can send me the instructions on how to do a sodler fix im down for that. Gives me something to do today.

If you want to go that route you can, or a bit later this afternoon we can see if a user with a NAND programmer can give it a shot.
(Users with NAND programmers can just reflash the NAND if a problem occurs.)
Thanks,

This is the update that is going out over OTA but I guess they have a different process than the update from usb uses. In regards to the solder fix, I will have something put together (that is hopefully easy to read) this afternoon. I will give you a heads up that it is all surface mount points and can be a little difficult for the first time solderer.
Sorry again,
Zenofex

heh, a progskeet is expensive. I'd love one myself along with the 360-clip.
For the fix you will need:
soldering iron
really thin wire
a USB extension cable
solder
tweezers
thumb drive
a linux machine or a way to format ext3 partitions
(and not required but good to have):
glue and/or tape
flux

I'm on the 1st beta 3.1 55579, I saw the update.zip was pulled...
I'm under the impression that 3.1.0 official should work fine if you don't have the user debug build...
Is this assumption correct?
Any other ways to get access to the release?

I'm in the same situation (leaked 1st beta w/ recovery access) and would like to know if anyone has confirmed that flashing the new OTA zip updates without issue.

Although I feel that the update would go fine from 55579 or the UserDebug build we pulled the update as we felt it had bricked enough boxes. If you want the link you can PM me but please understand that until its confirmed to work 100%, by trying the update you are being the "guinea pig".
Thanks,
