Hi,
I just bought the gtvbox from the market.
I have a 1Terra usb drive, where I save many bluray films, music etc. (pretty large data volume, several files larger than 4gb).
When I try to play a fullHD .mkv file (which plays nicely using vlc on my computer), the following happens:
* The load sign starts turning
* it freezes
* finally the whole revue stops working, and I need to reset (ctl alt del)
Please help!!!
Thank you very much
Problem

I'll be looking out for the next update later this week then. Thanks for being so attentive! I'll see if I can't get a log that helps with the AirPlay issue on the TV, but no rush. I can live without AirPlay for now.

There is also a feature called "Extended MKV support". When enabled in Preferences, it will display Title of MKV Movie (instead of just it's file name). Also it will display languge code of an audio track. Not a big deal... but It shows that work on internal subtitles is in progress.
Do you mind adding "preferred language" into the settings ? The player should try picking the preferred language to play the audio tracks or display the subtitles.
BTW. Displaying folder image instead of icon and ability to play all files in folder without going inside is a simple replacement for YAMJ/Jukebox capabilities.

Hello,
The smb does not work for me.
It thinks for about 15 sec. and then it says - unable to display the content or something like that.
I use blank fields for domain/user/pass.
It seems like it cannot find the host name. I tried with 3 different machines - NAS simpleshare, Windows 7 and Windows XP.
version 0.2, firmware 3.1

Yep. I've found the same with MKV files.

Don't know what to do with it for now...
Funny thing is that it worked on beta leak!
I need to some more testing but I think the problem occurs, to a lesser degree, with mp4 files as well.

mcd2000 wrote:But I think i know the better solution for now... It will be easy to implement:
When you hover a video file, the player will look for a file with the same name and JPG extension (more like with subtitles) and when found will display somewhere at the bottom of screen (the same could be with a txt file). Is everyone ok with this?
could it be same name or cover.jpg? i just know a number of other media players use cover.jpg so having both would be A+, dont get me wrong though having filename.jpg would still be brilliant!

I have couple of MP4 and MOV files. The seek almost perfectly. Also AVI files seem to work.
But all of my MKVs are not seekable.
Some tech from logs:
When you are streaming over HTTP (that is used internally in my player and in standard DLNA) and try to seek forward, it drops current connection and creates a new one with corresponding skip header. That is normal behavior. But after release update, it does not do so for MKV any more. It just continue to load MKV stream, until seek position reached (which can take loooots of time).

For now, it just displays current language.
But your idea is perfect! I will look if I can do this soon.

Have you tried IP address instead of hostname?
