Can 4.8 - build 1178 be modded?

Greetings!

I've bought a used Roko 2 with version 4.8, build 1178. Can this version be modded?

If I need to connect it to internet to mod , then if someone could please let me know the Roku service's IP or URL. I can block Roku's access to that site, so that the Roku fails to auto-update.

Hope that makes sense.

I am new to Roku. So any/all details would be very helpful.
