GTVBox player for blu-ray discs

Hello, I just purchased GTVBox video player for my Sony NSZ-GT1 blu-ray player. I purchased it hoping it would recognize the avi files I have on a blu-ray disc. The disc plays great in my old PS3, but the NSZ-GT1 doesn't recognize the files. Is this app capable of reading data off of a blu-ray disc, or can it only stream data from computer? If this app cannot read data off a blu-ray disc, does anyone know of an app that can read avi files from a blu-ray disc? The player does recognize the blu-ray disc, a message just pops up saying it cannot recognize it. Just hoping there is a way to watch it through the blu-ray player since it plays fine on my PS3. Thank you

Google TV OS restricts applications access to BD-ROM (for content protection reasons, I suppose).
On the rooted box, you can access it, but it will still throw out any non-BD/DVD disk.
