I was finally able to see my shared files in GTVBox, however when I attempted to play a couple different mkv's it went to a loading screen, with a spinning icon, and never loaded anything. Just stayed at that screen. My wireless signal isn't all that great where I have the revue. Any ideas of why that might be happening or something I can try? Thanks.

Please wait for the next update (i hope tomorrow). If It will not work, I'll check what we can do. Thanks.

I just bought the GVTBox. My name is Patrick.

I´m using Windows 7 x64. I would like to know how can i share a folder for network access with GVTBox (for Revue Media Player it´s necessary the Windows Media Share option). My intention is to use the GTVBOx to access the shared folder by network (to play video files with the *.srt files).

I did the normal shared option (click on folder and share for "Everyone"). It´s not working (GTVBox doesn´t see the shared folder).

What´s the procedure to share a Windows 7 folder as a SMB folder ?

Thanks in advance (greetings from Brazil)!

Patrick.

The smb does not work for me.
It thinks for about 15 sec. and then it says - unable to display the content or something like that.
I use blank fields for domain/user/pass.
It seems like it cannot find the host name. I tried with 3 different machines - NAS simpleshare, Windows 7 and Windows XP.
version 0.2, firmware 3.1
Have you tried IP address instead of hostname?
Thank you for the respond.
1. IP addresses work. However, my IP's are dynamic. Have you experienced the same issue?
2. When I press seek once, the player seeks properly, but when I hold seek, the bar moves, but the video won't resume play. I testet it with AVI, MKV over smb.

1. It sometimes discover wrong hostnames. So, I use IP addresses. Maybe you can set up your home router to assign the same IP address for your PC any time?
2. Read some posts above - MKV seeking is almost broken in Logitech Revue Honeycomb release. However, AVI should work...

mcd2000 wrote:I am developing a simple video player for my Logitech Revue, cauze I don't like default Logitech Media Player (and especially DLNA protocol). :-)

Today, It can only browse local, external and smb filesystems and play video files (natively supported by Revue). It supports audio track switching and external SRT subtitles.

The following formats and containers were tested on first Honeycomb leak: AVI, MKV, TS, VOB, M2TS, MP4, M4V, 3GP, MOV; H.264, DivX, MPEG2; PCM, AC3(5.1) (DTS seems not supported), AAC(5.1), MP3.
Note! UserDebug leak does not support some of video formats listed above.

Player hotkeys:
A (ALT) - change audio track
S - on/off srt subtitles display
O - change Revue optical output mode AC3(DolbyDigital)/PCM
P - set Revue video output mode to 50Hz (PAL)
N - set Revue video output mode to 60HZ (NTSC)

Avaliable from Android Market.
You can also download and test GTVBoxPlayer.apk from GTVHacker Dropbox account or here.
Thanks for this wonderful app, I have some problems, A few of my movies have the subtitle in the same folder and name but it do not show up, also have 1920x1080p movies but they do not run the screen keep black do nothing what could be wrong

Double check the subtitles are in srt format and have srt extension in lower case.
For the file MyVideo.mkv it should be MyVideo.srt (NOT MyVideo.SRT or MyVideo.mkv.srt).
Also go to the App preferences and select encoding for subtitles.

I suppose some of your movies are encoded MPEG2 which is not supported by Revue any more.

Version 0.25 released.
Some SMB changes I hope will not break anything...
Fixed issue when screensaver appeared during playback. Also, Airplay push event will cancel screensaver.
Also subtitle size changing is avaliable.

I'm too interested in DTS support. If I understood things correctly this is pending to the availability of native code execution library from google (NDK). I noticed there is instructions on how to get it installed "unofficially" over here:
http://gtvhacker.com/index.php/Logitech_Revue_Technical. Hope this helps.
