Wrote an app that helps with recording upcoming shows by taking you to the episode/movie page on the DirecTV website. Just search for the show and select the episode, you will have a new option to find the show on the DirectTV website. You can then login and click the record button. Comments welcome!

works great, i like the fact that it will take me right to DirecTV from the TV & Movies section, i just went up to the time option, put it for an hour ahead, clicked on a show, and there i was at DirecTV web site.
