Unrooting

I need to return one of the two Pulse devices I purchased and rooted. I want to unroot first and tried the instructions in another thread here as described below:

Gain an adb root shell (adb root, then adb shell)
mount -o,remount -rw /system
cd /system/etc/security
mv otacerts.zip.old otacerts.zip

This did not work. I also went into the security folder via Root Explorer, changed to RW and manually renamed the otacerts file to remove the ".old" This too proved unsuccessful. Even after a reboot, attempts to download the OTA update fail.

Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Just bumping this and asking whether anyone has successfully unrooted a Hisense Pulse and, if so, how?

What do mean by "unsuccessful"? Are you able to actually rename the otacerts.zip.old file to otacerts.zip? Does it not stick? Or, are you saying it won't update even after the rename?

I'm saying it won't update even after the rename.
