ok i understand this is complete noob question but i am having problems getting my ip address for my gtv
when i go to
HOME>MENU>SYSTEM SETTINGS>NETWORK>STATUS> IP ADDRESS >NONE
how do i get to show up my ip address do i need to be connected to the internet to get it ?

Needs an address on you home network. Do you have a router?

I tryed direct from laptop ethernet port to gtv
Also tryed thru router but didnt play around router settings

azrat - you F***ING rock! Great guide -- efficient, concise, logical.
Jeez, it took me a couple hours of serious frustration to get root on the first shot... Lost root trying to update with OTA root survival tool (a no-go for me). Took me 10 mins to reroot w/ your guide. Now if somebody can figure out how to update or even return to factory OTA's...
