Hi borovo,

Still no go i'm afraid. I have ran the cp /mnt/media/usb.......... command at least 50 times in succession now before rebooting and still without any luck. It just does not seem to want to work.

Any other advise?

Thanks

Hello Guys,

I'm about to give up on this. I have spent so much time and getting nowhere. When running the cp /mnt/media/usb....... command it seems to complete in a matter of a couple of seconds and gives no indication as to what if anything that it has done. I have also run the command many many times in succession before dong the adb reboot and nothing has changed on the recovery. My unit is also European by the way.

Out of interest, how many times did you run the command bovoro before it took hold?

C:\sdk>adb connect 192.168.0.101

seansykes, tooks a 3 seconds at most, Does the USB Stick in NTFS?, everything looks fine,

nigelmoore67,

brw------- root root 179, 10 2009-02-13 23:31 mmcblk0p10 this is where we need to rewrite, this is the recovery partition, and the gtvhacker-recovery we created in linux are a kind of symlink to write mmcblk0p10, are you on NTFS ?

I do not know if it matters, but in adb shell, I have root, su , # instead of $

Hi bovoro,

Thanks for the reply, yes im defo on NTFS on all 6 sticks that I have tried using. It seems that other Sony users are having problems also on the irc chat. There could be an issue with it on certain boxes/USB combos.

umm, i also using a US Version box, what you can try, is change your version to a USA one , im doing that, since my box come with Latinamerican software MX2 instead of US , what I did was replace the build.prop for an oldest U.S. version build.prop, that came an update of the USA REL10, I do not know if this have in common with people your problem

Try booting to recovery using the connect button instead of issuing a adb reboot recovery command. Mine was going to the stock recovery with adb, but went to custom recovery when using the connect button.

Unplug the unit. Press and hold the connect button on the bottom while plugging it back in. Continue holding for 5 seconds, then release.
