Hello to all,

Does anybody know if there has been any update on as to how we would install the 'Custom Recovery Package' ?. The last post on the official blog advises 'Today we are releasing instructions on performing both attacks'. This was posted 2 days ago although there doesn't seem to have been any new updates since. I have watched the presentation video now many times which of course relates to the 'Asus' and not the Sony box and a I am very much looking forwards to trying this for myself on my Sony.

Great work from the devs, Thanks for all your hard work.

I found the files at: http://dc21.gtvhacker.com/

trying to follow the video on the Asus Cube, I get stuck at cat /proc/mtd

I think this is where our sony devices differ. Hopefully they will post a how-to soon.

Hi All,

Thanks for the update phlunkie, I am now attempting the custom recovery process detailed however I am having a problem :-

cp /mnt/media/usb.45D7E8D50E416277/CustomRecovery-Sony-GS7-GS8-GTVHACKER.bin /mnt/bin/media/usb.45D7E8D50E416277/gtvhacker-recovery
cp /mnt/media/usb.45D7E8D50E416277/CustomRecovery-Sony-GS7-GS8-GTVHACKER.bin /mnt/bin/media/usb.45D7E8D50E416277/gtvhacker-recovery
cp: /mnt/media/usb.45D7E8D50E416277/gtvhacker-recovery: No such file or directory

The gtvhacker-recovery file is present on the USB stick but I seem to be at a dead end at the moment. I have tried multiple USB's all with the same results.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Can you reply with the output of this command?

ls -l /mnt/bin/media/usb.45D7E8D50E416277/

Thanks!
