He says to make sure you chmod to 06755Zane_Grey wrote:Here is what I did using the su for x86 from the post above me.
adb push su /system/bin/
adb push su /system/xbin/
adb push Superuser.apk /system/app/
then:
adb shell
chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
chmod 4755 /system/xbin/su
chmod 4755 /system/app/Superuser.apk
I went into the superuser app and it just shows su binary as vnull. Also root explorer doesn't request for su and even though it shows system as rewritable I was unable to delete files.
Has anyone gotten su binary to work?

No luck, whenever you try to run su it just says "command not found", not sure it's a valid image for the box.

dd if=../USB1.img of=\\.\Volume{046ee4df-3db8-11e1-836e-000c29b70b00} bs=4096
On the USB transfer with dd.exe it works every time above if i dont enter the final (bs=4096)
is the img transfer to usb mandatory that the ending BS=4096 needs to be placed in the command?
i keep getting an error saying wrong size when i enter that at the end
PLEASE Help I wanna flash this tonight!

Everything works except FOX and ABC TV shows. FOX is saying it needs a newer version of flash. ABC is playing, I hear sound, but the player is covered by a black box. I tried different user agents and no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks
And thanks for the hack!!

Pulled the trigger and pulled out my dusty 4 sticks... hulu don't stand no chance now!
Will go thru setting up adb from scratch tomorrow. Haven't used it since I rooted my g1... yikes. that PC is long since dead, so will need to go thru the latest version.
Anyone got a link or 2 that I should follow specific for gtv? Otherwise I'll just googit.
Very late... thanks for the tutorials and the imgs! You guys rules.
Now I sleep............................

Thanks so much for creating this. Installed really easily.
Hulu works great now, however Amazon Prime Instant videos will no longer work. When I click the Play Now link on any Amazon Instant Video, nothing happens. All other links on the Amazon page works, except for any Instant video play link...
Is anyone else experiencing this?

So my experience was very similar to this except chrome keeps crashing, when i got to any flash enabled site or when i enter advanced settings.bjorkyou wrote:After I started the downgrade, in step 5, I did not get an error but proceeded as if I did and followed the instructions and it all worked out. Once All was completed, I notices that the wireless network would not come up (kept searching) even after 12 minutes. I decided to hard-wire just to test and when I went to set up wireless later, my wifi signal was there. Also, the menu from the GTV did not show on my 1080p tv, so i connected it to another tv that had 480 and 720 so i could do the downgrade. ***VERY important!*** I did not see this in the instructions anywhere, I may have missed them, but when all was done, and I went to hulu, it STILL said it would not work on Google TV. I figured out that if you go into the chrome settings and change the window to "generic", it all worked perfect. I checked ABC, NBC, HULU, Epix, etc. All work great. Thanks. I'm donating now.
3. do i need to redo the downgrade?
1. how can i tell what kernel i have?
2. In the wiki, What step should i start from to just install the unsigned kernel?
edit: i re-did from step 7 which says insert usb1 press 3 remove usb1 insert usb3 and get error. Still chrome keeps crashing.

Do i need a crossover cable? or just standard?anuraj1 wrote:Thank you so much, I figured that out after buying a cable yesterday haha. I read on Google's android SDK site and managed to connect with ADB over IP and allowed non-market apps.replaytv5000 wrote: Sorry that no one has answered you, but no. The USB ports are for external storage. Besides finding an A-to-A USB cable would be difficult in retail hell.
These boxes use ADB over IP. There is a setting in Development under Applications in Settings. Just make sure Remote Debugging is checked. You will use the option "Debugger IP address" to config.
