VOB files

If I could play these my revue would be perfect :D
I read a review from some time ago discussing the revue and a new update that said "it can no longer play VOB files".
So to expand on this, at some stage it looks like it could.
Is there any way to go back to a firmware that allows this?

No. The sony gtv is far superior and does play almost anything.

Correct. The Revue used to be able to play MPEG-2. This functionality was disabled by Logitech in the final Honeycomb release. I guess they dropped it because they didnt want to pay the license fee or something, since they are discontinuing the Revue. In my opinion, that's a terrible thing for Logitech to do to their customers. Our only hope now, and its a small one, is that Google re-enables it in the next update, but I wouldn't hold your breath!
