So why can't the NSZ-GT1 r be modified to run almost any app the same way bluestacks does on my windows machine? sorry that i am not terribly familiar with google tv and its limitations. I understand it is closed source but can it still be somehow modified to support or run apps similar to how it works on bluestacks? or x86 project ?

is there a way for someone who has rom developing experience to develop a custom rom from AOSP and flash it onto the GTV to take advantage of the hardware and have it dual boot with the current google tv rom?

Locked boot loader will never let custom ROMs onto the box and x86 GMTV is dying. The newer boxes are arm based.
Maybe after root is released it'll be developed further. In wouldn't hold my breathe.
