I have the LG 47g2

http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-47G2-led-tv

and not sure if I need to root it or everything should just work side loaded?

I tried installing the dropbox APK but get a force close when I try to run it. Adobe reader force closes on me.

I want to like this TV but so far ive been underwhelmed

I'm not familiar with the LG TV, but if you tried to side load the latest version of Drop-box it will FC on you, you must install an older version apk

Ok I loaded the older 2.2 and it works.

Alot of the apps in the shared drop box either no longer work or do not work with this TV version.

I would be willing to work with you guys on trying to get things running on this model TV. Let me know ow I can help.

I found that 90% of the apps that fail after install is due to rotation issues. Use a rotation lock app set it to landscape and run at boot with per app basis unchecked.

I use

Code: Select all

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate&hl=en
This allows me to run Dolphin browser, rom toolbox, and many many more that force closed every time I ran them.
For some apps you need to set rotation to portrait then after it starts force close it and reset to landscape.

Dolphin browser required this due to the first run layout being portrait, after I did the above and swiped the 3 pages at first run it works fine.
