No USB port will boot my flash drive formatted as FAT32

Hello,
I am new to this forum and I need help. I have a NSZ-GT1 running firmware version 3.2 and I want to root this device. I formatted my flash drive as FAT32 and downloaded the Sony Eagle 2012.05.20 - BL Exploitable file. I renamed it to package_list_DB1-1_EAGLE_2012052001_WWV_ORSC.zip as directed.
The problem is it won't boot from any USB port on the NSZ-GT1 device. I tried a different flash drive and downloaded the file again but it still would not boot. After the device boots up it does recognize the flash drive so that's weird. Please help. I would very much like to root this device.
