I just rooted from 20120808_EAGLE_2012080801_WWW_ORSC using the UART way, which I believe is the only published way to root from this release currently. The instructions are on the blog, kinda terse, and kinda hidden.

Your are going to need DKU-5 cable and that micro USB adapter at this point.

My 3 wire cable pinouts were:
UART Red to Transfer
UART White to Read
UART Black to Ground

Figuring out the wires was the hardest part. I had an old DKU-5 laying around to unbrick a seagate harddrive that I never got around to. When wired properly, what you type is what you should see in the putty terminal. If you see garbage when you type, Read wire is correct, but the Ground and Transit connections are flipped. The other 4 of 6 wire combinations did not produce any output what so ever for me.

The other hint that I have is copying the commands from the web page in notepad, and then paste them into putty. Putty past is just right click (no menus). Even with then, you still have to be nimble before the box reboots on its own.
