Hey y'all,

I finally got all the parts I needed and went to root my sony NSZ-GT1 and found it had been upgraded to 20120917 :(

I'm guessing it'll need to be downgraded, but what I'd like to know is the team still working on the device or has moved on?

Placed in wrong forum and can't seem to move/delete.

I was going to suggest that the android master key exploits (http://www.saurik.com/id/18) and Cydia Impactor (http://www.cydiaimpactor.com/) could be used, but I see that someone already added a page to the wiki detailing this: http://www.gtvhacker.com/index.php/Expl ... g_for_Root

Looks like you get to root, and I get to update my device and retain root! :D

I have the 40 inch tv. I tried to load the files, from the instruction page. It appears that I should be loading the files for the non-persistant root steps, but when in load the cyndia impactor under mac, it lists the options for the persistant root. So, I followed those instruction. of course, the cyndia impactor crashes on install each time. Also, the shell didn't work. I did an adb in terminal and showed the device connected.

I then switched over to windows and did the same install with the windows version of cyndia impactor. The install of the two files for persistant root went fine, with no crashes. Then when I launched the shell, and tried to upload super user, it says that it couldn't find a device.

So, given that the first two directories installed under windows, and I knew that mac was seeing the device, i switched back over and tried to install superuser apk. it comes back and says it failed because the directories are read only.

anyone have any ideas??
