browser keeps popping up when watching tv

I am not sure what is going on with my TV. while watching tv or any programs on dvr, the internet search button keeps appearing at the top of the screen as if someone wants to search. we have to push the escape button or the search button on hte remote to get it to go away. I went thru two chat sessions with sony and nothing resolved the problem. I have the sony NSX-40GT1. My TV is hard wired into fios for cable and gets internet. I took the batteries out of the remote, and it still happened. I did a complete master reset and it did not fix the problem. Right now, I disconnected the internet completely and it is still happening. I am completely frustrated as it comes up every few minutes... any advice is greatly appreciated! thanks!
