Well, on just the off chance I tried aVia media player, that works fine on my 3.1 device. It's very basic but sees my DLNA devices and plays the media I have so far with no problems.

I get no album art or media info when I play MP3s that are store in an external USB 2.0 hard drive. The tracks are tagged and have embedded album art. The music plays fine, but the Logitech Media player only displays a generic album cover and the name of the file that's playing. I also tested using a UPnP DLNA media server and the album art and track info is displays just fine. Btw, I'm not using the HC 3.1 leaked firmware. I'm using 2.1 update1, but I wonder if this is an issue that existed with 2.1 that is now fixed with 3.1.

A couple of updates:

DicePlayer Trial - https://market.android.com/details?id=c ... ayer.trial
  • Does not work. Device unsupported message.
MoboPlayer - https://market.android.com/details?id=c ... ndroid.nil
  • Does not work. Force closes.
MX Video Player - https://market.android.com/details?id=c ... oplayer.ad
  • Does not work. Device unsupported message.
These are a few great media players for Honeycomb on tablets that I'm sure many of us would like to see working sooner than later on GoogleTV. Please contact the developers if you agree to offer words of encouragement.
