HELP, very confused about rooting

just bought a Logitec Revue (yesterday). i want to be able to access Hulu and the tv network sites (thinking about turning off cable). do i root the box or install 3.1? if i root the box how do i do it? I'm not real technical. I need step by step instructions with pictures if possible.

There's a workaround in 3.1 for accessing Hulu, but flash crashes after 20 minutes of playing. It's really not ready for a TV replacement.

As for rooting, you have to solder on the motherboard. If you aren't technical, then I'd say it's not the way for you to go.
