Bought an open box NSZ-GT1 and found that all of the system sounds are barely audible but all apps have normal volume when running. Factory reset had no effect. Anybody know how to normalize the system sounds volume?

Is it possible to rollback to an earlier rom by changing the build.prop? That way I can maybe revert the splash to stock and it would still be possible to update to the 20122601 rom again to be able to keep working on the problem if it persists? I just Un-Rooted by doing a manual USB update to the stock version of 2012.01.26 but it didn't replace the GTVHacker splash. Just wanted to add that this problem is with playing the older (Lossy) DTS, not the newer DTS-MA/HD (Lossless) version. I've checked the Sony support forum and the only problems reported were for lossless.
