I thought that you would need a rooted device to install work around NDK support on GTV and since rooting GTV for the average GTV user is too complex or not available at all, so no one seems to have tried to experiment.

The Developer of the iMame4Droid was very interested in porting to Google TV but the lack of NDK support on Google TV prevented him from pursuing the idea.
But you could try and see if the Tiger Mame emulator works on GTV

Where is the resume data (playstate) stored? If it's local to the GTV player being used, can you create an option to store it where the videos are stored? This would allow pausing from one room and resuming from another. It could be as simple as a file that tracks the current timestamp of where the...

OMG! This is so exciting.
So we should avoid updating if/when Sony releases fix/patch for this root, correct? Once rooted, what will happen to Sony's OTA updates, do they automatically get blocked?
