Re: Honeycomb 3.1
OMFG! Dateline: September 25, 2011 2:48AM While watching reruns, my Sony Google TV informs me that there is an updated that needs to be performed! Screw the reruns! Give me fricken Honeycomb! Click "Install Now"! After a lengthy, maybe 5-10 minute update, system rebooted... Sony logo, sam...

Re: How can you tell if a used Revue is rootable?
I sort of have a follow-up question to my original question. I bought a brand new Revue and I don't have my USB->TTL device yet (slow shipping from China). Am I correct in assuming that as long as the Revue doesn't receive any OTA updates by not setting up network access, then it will remain rootab...

Re: Missing 'Tab Browser' Feature on User Debug
Not sure if this is what your talking about, but did you try hitting ALT+Tab ? Of course, it will only work if you have multiple items open.

Re: My revue can not reboot
Has anyone attempted to try and restore back to and earlier version? like: c9914396d183.mp-signed-ota_update-b42449.zip? Would it be possible even? Or can you not go backwards just forwards with versions? You can not go backwards, namely if you look in each updates update script, there is a check a...

Re: I Think I'm bricked
Sadly you are bricked. Specifically, in that version that you updated to the recovery functionality was removed (so, it does not work). Unfortunately there is no software fix for this type of brick - there might be a hardware way, but your talking pulling flash chips = not the easiest for most people.

Re: NAND Flash question
This is a update for everyone who want to dump the NAND extern. I did the first dump with dd, but that isn't very clever and good. There exists a package mtd-utils which has nanddump included: Usage: nanddump [OPTIONS] MTD-device Dumps the contents of a nand mtd partition. --help Display this help ...

No - as netflix on these units are not just the apk, its a large series of files instead, which can't be put onto the beta due to the limitations of /system

Re: Honeycomb 3.1 UserDebug Leaked!
Nope- ask away. Pretty much, unless your a developer, or someone interested in seeing more of the systems inner workings, it's not for you. Wait for the final 3.1 release, with netflix that should be around soon (I'm saying this week, but who knows).

Re: Honeycomb 3.1 UserDebug Leaked!
when you say memory is locked are you saying that the system files cannot be modified? No, it means you can't tinker inside memory, however all files in /system are mounted RO, and they can not be re-mounted. Can we change the flash user agent to get Hulu and other blocked content working? I do not...

To clarify what mrandroid said - if you install this, assume you will not be able to updat...
