Revue HTTP-Server

Hi, I got my Revue today and have Android-2.1 installed currently. I saw, that there are different opened ports: 1100, 5222, 5223, 8059, 8058, 9552, 9551 And on the ports 8059 and 8058 I discovered an HTTP-Server which is identifying itself as "Linux/2.6.23.19-ge208ca16 CyberHTTP/1.0". But...

Re: AVI / BlueRay / HD disc support workaround !!

I thought the Revue has enough power to play 1080p-MKV-files.
Isn't this right?

Re: Anyone tried Gingerbreak?

Btw... I'm pretty sure "#" in adb means its root....right?.... Normally yes. And: I'm not able to compile Gingerbreak. There are a lot of errors. make: Entering directory `/home/m1cha/projects/android-x86' target C: init <= system/core/init/init.c system/core/init/init.c: In function 'fin...

Re: Anyone tried Gingerbreak?

What do you mean with signed system? Will the box stop booting after modifying file at the system-partition like android-system-apps? A signed kernel wouldn't stop us from rooting(if we will find an working exploit). The Motorola-Smartphones have signed kernels but thanks to 2nd-init we can boot own...

Re: Anyone tried Gingerbreak?

This depends on weather this box has adb-server enabled. If so, pull the file to /data/local/tmp with this command: adb pull rageagainstthecage /data/local/tmp Then make it executable: adb shell chmod 0755 /data/local/tmp/rageagainstthecage Then execute it: adb shell /data/local/tmp/rageagainsttheca...

Re: Anyone tried Gingerbreak?

I think it's easier trying if my compiled exploit works before experimenting with these things. So here is the x86-version of the exploit "RageAgainstTheCage": http://www.multiupload.com/VE5Y5PWODY You need to copy this to the system, make it executable and execute it. If it worked you sho...

Re: Anyone tried Gingerbreak?

I managed to compile "RageAgainstTheCage" for x86-Android.
I don't know if this will work on Android-2.3 but we can try it.
The only thing I need are the working su-binary and superuser.apk you are using with the actual root-method.

Can anyone please upload them?

Re: Anyone tried Gingerbreak?

The server for the android-sourcecode is down because it was hacked :(
So I can't download the source of the x86-port of Android. Hopefully it come's back online soon.

I also send a request to the Gingerbreak-Developer but I don't think he will help us.

Re: Anyone tried Gingerbreak?

I've found the source-codes of the expoits "GingerBreak" and "RageAgainstTheCage" on this page: http://stealth.openwall.net/xSports/ Will any compiled Linux-Binary(x86) on the Revue or does we have to download the sdk/ndk for android.x86? I don't have a Revue at the time but I wi...
