Well, on just the off chance I tried aVia media player, that works fine on my 3.1 device. It's very basic but sees my DLNA devices and plays the media I have so far with no problems.

Well, good news is that 2-step verification is not a problem for me. I'm able to log in with an account I have 2-step setup on and I'm not prompted for the extra step.
