Superuser for Revue

This is pretty much a cross-post from the sony side of the forums. i'm just putting it here for the enevitable root exploit....when it comes out. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16800443/Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-x86.zip This is a basic "guide" to getting it running. Always good to see development. I'm more worried about the box I've had for months and months over the tv I'm never going to get though. I've got adb on my Mac going with a copy of superuser x86. I'm ready to root this thing. I've been ready to root it. I've waited mad long already so what's another...

Re: root?

They described very detailed how the exploit works. Now Logitech could patch this via update very fast. Hopefully they will release the exploit soon. I hope they do not. I hate to be that guy cuz I know better, but when are the revue exploits being released? Its been a while since Dan was able to root it. Defcon was yesterday, and it was said they would end the conference with public release of exploits. So when will we be able to root? Anytime soon?

so the s3 for verizon has lockrd bootloader....

Devs have since figured out how to almost completely bypass it. Would any of the methods they used be able to help us with our boot loader?

Re: Just received my Revue in the mail. To root or not to ro

Sorry to revive an old posting, but I've been wondering about this too. At current prices ($99 and under), I'm more willing to risk bricking a new Revue with a blown hardware mod. otoh, I imagine hacker interest will migrate to other devices, so my fantasy of running Debian or XBMC on a modded Revu...
