Re: BETA: Revue Root (Not for general public use)

hi there is a generic linux root exploit for all kernel versions: http://m.h-online.com/open/news/item/Exploit-for-local-Linux-kernel-bug-in-circulation-Update-1863892.html?from-classic=1 http://fucksheep.org/~sd/warez/semtex.c Can this work on revue? I tried it but it fails there: semtex: /home/m1c...

Re: BETA: Revue Root (Not for general public use)

I have another idea for permanent root and I'll try it soon: We could place a binary somewhere like on /data-partition. Then set the owner to root and give him the +s flag so it will be always executed as root. If we do that with a binary like busybox we should be able todo everything as root withou...

Re: BETA: Revue Root (Not for general public use)

M1cha, it's a great idea for persistence, however it does still take us back to square one, at least on this update. This may prove to be very useful if another update comes out, namely if the permissions of devmem are changed. However right now we don't have another exploit apart from nandpwn, so ...

Re: BETA: Revue Root (Not for general public use)

I think I've found a way to permanently root Logitech Revue. After you got root-access using nandpwn, execute this two commands: rm -R /data/av_timing_logs ln -s /dev/mem /data/av_timing_logs This replaces a folder on the data-partition with a symlink to /dev/mem. Because "/data/av_timing_logs&...

Re: BETA: Revue Root (Not for general public use)

We've been working on some ideas to get around the signed partitions most of which may be riskier than most of you would probably want to go through, but we will continue to do so until we either run out of ideas or make a breakthrough. Which are the ideas? I have some technical knowledge about suc...

Re: root?

After we rooted our device, we really need a patch to disable auto-update.
That's a really bad feature for hacked devices :P

Re: root?

They described very detailed how the exploit works.
Now Logitech could patch this via update very fast. Hopefully they will release the exploit soon.

Re: Logitech DevTools

Yes it's for revue only. Logitech has Debug-Menus built into their apps but they are hidden.
My app just gives you some buttons to directly access them.

Logitech DevTools

I realized (with the help of LauncherPro), that there are many Dev-Activities in Logitech's Apps. I wrote an app to collect and easily launch them. There are some interesting things. For example you can enable tap-to-click feature for the Touchpad. Have fun :) Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?tah...
