Re: Anyone tried Gingerbreak?

I've read the posts, and know that the user debug has both adb and su - neither of which had write access to the system. Having adb doesn't mean you have root. Having write access to the root system means you have root. All Android phones have adb, ergo all Android phones have root? I don't think so...

Re: Anyone tried Gingerbreak?

Its not going to work. We have root with the user debug. The system and kernal are signed and incorporated to the intels security. That's what needs breaking. Which isn't impossible. But more advanced than most of us on this forum....aside from zenofex and other gtvhacker team. However, I do applau...

Re: Has anyone tested Plex on the new HC 3.1 debug leak?

I've found that the best way to play my own content off my PC is to use eStrongs file explorer. It's much quicker, plays more file formats, and seems much more reliable - of course it isn't as fancy looking, but...

Re: Has anyone tested Plex on the new HC 3.1 debug leak?

I've installed the Plex server on my PC and tried the app on the Revue, as well as my phone and tablet. Wasn't overly impressed - the interface took forever to catalog my content, was always slow opening videos, locked-up, etc... There's better solutions if you just want to play content from your PC...

Re: Google tv dlna help needed

No, you're not doing anything wrong. The Revue isn't fully DLNA compliant, and so it doesn't identify itself as a renderer, so you can't push content. If you're trying to play a video/pic from your phone, you can long use the "share" option from your phone and send it to the Google TV app ...

Re: Connecting via USB->TTL to fix borked honecomb install

The USB TTL device connects to the UART on mobo. The UART is disabled in the newer firmware builds, so you now have nothing to communicate with, sorry...

Re: Honeycomb 3.1 UserDebug Leaked!

That's a fair challenge... Let's just say that I doubt that this leaked ROM is less likely to accept an update than the previous leaked ROM. The same risk is inherent in both. I've not seen a leaked ROM refuse an update before, and have only seen tweaked, custom, or self compiled ROMs fail updates (...

Re: Honeycomb 3.1 UserDebug Leaked!

So I have been going back and forth on updating from 2.1. The one catch is the uncertaincy of being able to update to.the final version. Is it worth it? You almost definitely WILL be able to update to the officially released version - in fact there's probably very little you can do to prevent it. H...
