So just to confirm what drh is asking, it's not possible to buy a brand new Roku that hasn't been updated and root it?

Re: root #2

What makes you say that there won't be any updates? Thanks for the tip about Equiso. It's not with them, but I'll be sure to cross them off my list of potentials. The one I'm interested in is this one. http://www.in4dealz.com/deals/Dual-Core-Mini-PC-UG802-Rockchip-3066-Android-4-0-4-1-2GHz-Cortex-A9...

Re: root #2

Not to be pushy, but I was wondering if there are any updates? There's a sale for one of those Android on a stick devices, and I'm tempted to buy it, but if permanent root for the Revue is still a possibility, then I'd rather save my money. Thanks.

Re: Revue emulates to play SNES, PS1 games

I'm not familiar with those apps but I'm assuming that they were coded with the Android SDK and not the NDK. SDK apps are binary compatible with the Revue but not NDK apps. "Ironic" isn't an app. I meant that it was ironic that you would need an emulator to run these emulators. http://en.w...

Re: Revue emulates to play SNES, PS1 games

You definitely can't run ARM programs on an x86 platform, at least not natively. The Revue would either need an ARM emulator (ironic) or the program would have to be rewritten and compiled for x86.

Re: CBS.com & modified flash (content block bypass)

Your UART is definitely disabled (any OTA update disables UART).

zenofex: I've sent you a PM.

Is there still work being done to get around the latest content blocks?

It seems that Hulu is blocking content again even with this new update. CBS seems to be working though.
