Black video w/ audio

I am running a rooted Pulse. I can watch Hulu just fine, works great. When I go to ABC and try to watch a video, I can hear audio and the video looks like a black box overlaid with a few pixels peeking out the sides. If I scroll down and back up, the black box scrolls out of the way just long enough...

After completing root, I still received a message saying I have an update ready. I tried the steps to get rid of the zip file in the cd /cache but I can't access it. Could you give me exact instructions on how to get rid of this so I don't accidently update my box? edit: I've been learning a little ...

Okay, so I ordered a Pulse when I found out about the root access. It should be here on Saturday and I would think it does not have the updated patch. What would be the best steps I go about following the rooting process but NOT having it update before I get it rooted? Also, what about the hardware ...
