Re: Sign the petition to "open" the Logitech Revue boot-load
The can make a signed update which installs a bootloader which doesn't check the signatures. Nothing which is too complicated. Should be done in a day by good devs. A fair point, I had not really considered. I still don't have a lot of faith in this happening. I'd like to see Logitech prove me wrong.

Re: Rooting Logitech Revue
Answered inline. 1) I don't remember, when you boot up a brand new Revue, does it upgrade automatically or is it something you can prevent or opt out of? If it can connect to the internet, it will upgrade itself. 2) Does the firmware version under settings/about clearly indicate whether the Revue w...

Re: Sign the petition to "open" the Logitech Revue boot-load
I signed the petition, but I'm afraid this may all be irrelevant. The Revue bootloader is signed with Logitech's private key. I do not see a way that Logitech can open the revue to self-signing or test-signing. We're about to enter a dark era of computing as soon as UEFI becomes standard on everythi...

Re: Are new ($99) revues still rootable
I tried to root my refurbished Revue and was unsuccessful. It was my first effort, so it's possible I did something wrong, or as part of the refurb process they remove the ability to root them. As far as I know, production run devices are still rootable.

Re: rw on data directory
adb root adb connect x.x.x.x adb shell chmod -R 777 /data also i found it works on several other files and sub-directories on user debug 3.1 sys, dev, var, etc Do those changes persist restarts? I was under the impression you'd need to change the mount R/W status. The file attributes are independen...

Re: Installing pin headers into UART1?
Thanks for your follow-up. I rooted my Revue a few days ago, and that ground pin was a serious pain. I ended up not installing pin headers yet because I'm still waiting for them to arrive, so I decided to try to solder wires directly to the pins. It took forever for me to get the ground pin to take...

Re: Installing pin headers into UART1?
The pin that gave me problems was the ground pin. I had a solder sucker, and I don't remember actually clearing it completely. As that was fortunately the only pin that gave me trouble, I just sort of made it work. The pitch was standard, like you may find on most headers. Good luck. Thanks. I orde...

Re: cefdk of version b39389
Having looked into it before, it doesn't look like the device mounts the USB ports before booting... in other words, it won't boot off a USB key.macky032992 wrote:Do you think it is possible to create a USB boot disk that CEFDk will be able to use?

Re: Booting off USB drive
I mean, the D-Link Boxee Box HD Media Player is less powerful than the GTV. Would it be possible to use the kernel and the rootfile system of boxee? Most of it should be compatible. I want XBMC to get running on the GTV, maybe even without android! with 99$ it would be the cheapest xbmc or boxee de...
