No i was more thinking DVR or sling box like functionality for the one app. The problem is that from what i was looking at using it seems to be an encrypted stream from the cable box to the tv. and the only way to mitm it would be to used the reverse engineered HDCP master keys and do hardware level...

I do have to note that for me the content is not super smooth. If i don't pause and let it buffer it cuts out every couple of seconds. I am on Fios with 25/25 mbps.
